About the Cottage
The Cottage is accessed through a state of the art keyless entry system leading into the Entrance Hall. This simple system means you have the freedom to not worry about carrying keys with you during your stay. In the entrance hall you will find a corner storage unit and towels provided for you to dry down your pets, should you wish to bring them with you. The Cottage has full gas central heating and is fully equipped and includes high speed wireless internet access.
TThe Entrance Hall leads into the comfortable and stylish Lounge. It has a beautiful traditional cast iron open fireplace with slate hearth with an original oil painting above it. A lovely three piece suite, oak flooring and traditional window shutters. There is a 50" Samsung QLED Ultra HD 4K Smart TV and a collection of books, games and free high speed wi-fi internet access for your entertainment.
The Dining Room has an original open grate fireplace with bread oven, wood surround and marble hearth. It comfortably seats four people and is complete with a drinks cabinet full of cut crystal glasses and a wine rack. The room benefits from a beamed ceiling and oak flooring, which adds to the character feeling. The Dining Room also has access to the enclosed outdoor seating area with table and chairs for sitting out in the warmer months.
The attractive modern Kitchen is fitted with a range of white wall and base units with wooden work surfaces. It has top of the range integrated appliances including an electric touch oven with gas hob and extractor hood, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing/dryer and family sized dishwasher. The kitchen leads to the downstairs cloakroom/WC.
Luxurious Interiors
Upstairs the Master Bedroom has a lovely wooden double bed with matching bed side tables, a built in storage cupboard with hanging space and chandelier lighting. Our bed linen and towels are exceptional - the finest 100% Egyptian Cotton, all from the White Company. The bedroom has two windows with traditional panelled shutters and window seats offering beautiful views over the River Coquet and the attractive bridges in West Thirston and Felton. There is also a chest of drawers/dressing table and wall mounted 40" Samsung QLED Ultra HD 4K Smart TV.
The Second Bedroom has twin beds and a cast iron open grate fireplace and surround, a built in cupboard offering hanging space, a chest of drawers & a 40" Samsung QLED Ultra HD 4K Smart TV.

Riverside cottage is a lovely cottage in a wonderful little village, the owners have thought of everything you will need while away and cater especially for your four legged friends, beautifully decorated and comfortable.

In the lovely village of West Thirston on the River Coquet. The cottage was cosy, clean and we were well catered for. No need to take the kitchen sink EVERYTHING is all ready there.

Felton and West Thirston have so much to offer including the wonderful gastro-pub The Northumberland Arms and the fantastic Artisan Bakery and Cafe The Running Fox. We also have the Foxes Den which is a friendly micro-pub offering the best in local ales and Gallery Forty5 which offers two exhibition spaces and a gift shop.
We also welcome your pets to the Cottage. A lot of self catering properties don't allow pets, but we believe they are part of the family just as much as the kids! Northumberland has a huge amount to offer the dog owner, it is one of the few counties in the UK that has no restrictions on dogs accessing it's beaches. The area around the Cottage is perfect for dog walking with off road riverside paths right from the front door. We accept one well behaved dog (sometimes two by negotiation - please contact us before booking). Dogs must be over the age of 12 months and our house rules state they are not allowed on the furniture and do not cause any damage.
For the pet owners we provide: Dog feeding bowls and mat, enclosed outdoor space, dog towels in the entrance hall and by the back door for cleaning and drying before entry and spare dog leads.
