Although you wouldn't know it when you arrive, Riverside Cottage is pet friendly. Wherever we go our gorgeous boy Jonny comes with us so we understand they are part of the family and the Cottage is set up ready for our four legged visitors.
We welcome your dog to the Cottage. A lot of self catering properties don't allow pets, but we believe they are part of the family just as much as the kids! Northumberland has a huge amount to offer the dog lover, it is one of the few counties in the UK that has no restrictions on dogs accessing it's beaches.
For the pet owners we provide: Dog feeding bowls and mat, enclosed outdoor space, dog towels in the entrance hall and by the back door for cleaning and drying before entry and spare dog leads should you forget to pack yours.
The area around the Cottage is perfect for dog walking with off road riverside paths right from the front door. Explore this riverside path that leads all the way to Warkworth through fields and enjoy the wildlife en route. The Northumberland Arms in the Village is very dog friendly so you can take them into the bar to have a drink or a meal. The Running Fox has an outsite seating space so that you can enjoy their delicious treats and sit out with the dog.
A little further afield the Northumberlan Heritage Coastline is just a short drive away. Our wide open beaches are perfect for the dogs to run around and let off some steam. Almost all the pubs by the coast are dog friendly, particularly in Alnmouth, Warkworth and Seahouses so there's plenty of places to warm up afterwards.
We accept one well behaved dog (sometimes two by negotiation - please contact us before booking). Dogs must be over the age of 12 months and our house rules state they are not allowed on the furniture and do not cause any damage or nuisance to neighbours. We couldn't resist sharing a few photos of our Jonny boy exploring the beauty of the Northumberland countryside and coast below....
